OFRENDA MIRROR

Ofrenda was inspired in the most famous mesoamerican ball game of all times. The pok-ta-pok.

The rules of this game are unknown, except that the players would need to keep the ball in play.

The stone ball court goal was our inspiration for our OFRENDA mirror.

There’s different theories about the real meaning behind this popular game and that comes with the fact that many played it for fun but also many times political and territorial differences were involved.

This game had strong ritual aspects, many times combined with human sacrifice.

The team losing the game was later offered to the Aztec Gods by sacrifice.

The designers have recreated that moment of REFLECTION throughout this mirror, even if the stone was at the time the material used we all can fell and understand the impact that stone goal court had in the players life, as their life was bounced around that tight circle.
