ASCETIC STOOL

The ascetic stool is characterised, especially by the simplicity of its naked design and the use of a single material to embody a minimal yet strong presence in the design itself. It is primarily recognised for its association with a lifestyle of austerity, where encountering an ascetic person often involves nakedness, symbolising the non-possession of many things, including body modifications and other austerities.

This stool embodies many of these characteristics, conveying a strong impression through its raw materials that almost seem inflicted upon our eyes.

The design comprises three separate blocks, specially crafted from a single block of oak. Later, these blocks are strategically positioned to emphasise that even when perfectly crafted together, they may not look as flawless as the ascetic lifestyle we strive to achieve.

Many of us have aspired to attain godlike or human perfection, but we can't, given our inherent imperfections as humans.

Consequently, our creations will never be perfect, even if we begin with precision, strip down our lifestyles, strive to be the best, and create the most exceptional designs.

When these elements are brought together, they persist in not achieving perfection.
